We're both Marines who served overseas in the Global War on Terror. With 12 years of Military service between us, we have experienced any number of leadership styles, from the effective and motivating to the toxic and maddening. Upon returning home, we both felt a loss of purpose and struggled greatly with reintegrating into society.
While Bryan (Operations Officer) wound up getting into graphic design and vinyl car wrapping around a decade ago, I struggled with alcoholism and PTSD for several years after my service ended. Eventually, through Veteran Service Organizations like Irreverent Warriors and the support network that they created, Bryan and I met and began to dream about creating something of our own. I also owe my sobriety and progress in mental health to these same support networks of amazing volunteer veterans. (It would be unjust not to mention that none of this would be possible without Bryan's wife, Amber! My parents and my daughter also deserve special recognition for everything they have done for me and continue to do.)
That was the beginning of Globe and Anchor Industries LLC, although we didn't know it at the time. The creative collaborations and dreams of a purpose together and the production of creative design materials followed shortly after that. I was already in classes aimed at Entrepreneurship at Tarrant County College, and Bryan had a wealth of experience in graphic design and wrapping cars, and it just kind of happened organically. I often joke that Bryan and I complete each other. He enjoys the creative, detail-oriented, and tedious production work involved in this kind of industry. I, on the other hand, would much rather deal with people, administrative operations, and sales.
Moving forward together in this venture is truly a dream come true for me, and I'm quite sure Bryan feels the same way. I look forward to not only providing products and services of a creative nature to our clients but also a work environment and a company that is worth belonging to and believing in. Through our various experiences in leadership and having worked in the good, the bad, and the ugly of companies, we hope to create something truly unique not only for our clients but for our employees and business partners. We're both very excited to see what our future holds in store.
